House of ghosts

Working on my new novel is a little like trying to type up a manuscript in a room haunted by the characters of my last novel. Here I am busy inventing a new cast of characters, building new tensions, asking new questions and who should pop up but - Fiona from Rules for Thursday Lovers - with a 'problem' hat and a demand for a sequel. Even Angie is showing up in all sorts of corners of my new plot with her irritating need to smoothe things over and make everyone happy.

So, to make them all happy, I've promised them a sequel one day if they will only shut up and let me get on with my new novel. Seems to be working. Watch this space ...
